We met when we worked at the same restaurant together in Bristol, I moved there for my MA and Edie was doing her Undergrad at BIMM. It wasn't until we got talking at the staff Christmas meal that we realised might have crossed paths at some point before that. In 2nd and 3rd year of uni I worked as an instrumental teacher at a school in Kidsgrove, Stoke and it turns out that Edie lived just down the road from that school. Edie now lives in the same building in Bristol I lived in 2 years ago. Both times I've lived in Bristol we have lived within a 2 minute walk of each other.
Edie is quite possibly one of the clumsiest people I have ever met. Just while I've known her (and just the injuries I can remember) she's split her knee open, broken her foot, broken her back slipping down the stairs at work (she's fine now). I've lost count of the number of times she's been to hospital, ended up on crutches. Now it's coming to winter again I'm genuinely a little worried for her, seeing how hilly Bristol is and how slippery the pavements get in the ice. I think the most common phrase directed at Edie (from both me and some of our other friends) is 'Oh Edie', as mixture of unsurprised and a little sympathy mixed with a little laughter, whenever she tells us the next clumsy thing she's done or the next situation she's accidentally gotten herself into. (I even had to edit out a part of the video where she slipped over.)
When not falling over, Edie is a very talented singer/songwriter and we've worked together on various projects including uni work and a recording of a cover of a Paolo Nutini song that was played at her mums wedding. We plan to eventually record and release some projects together, but fitting it into our schedules is actually proving harder than writing and recording the songs will actually be.
NOTE: This was actually the second time we filmed Edie here, although there were some camera issues with the first time the bigger issue was the fact that when we got to the mirrors there was a little boy running around playing with his mum. Which was fine, I knew filming in public I'd have at accept some people in the background of shots, the issue however, was that he was naked from the waist down.
Filmed in Bristol, UK.
Known for 1 year and 9 months at the time of filming.
